Matouk was founded in 1929 by John Matouk, born in Damascus, the son of a jeweler, who trained his eye for fine textiles in Syria, Italy, and China before arriving in the United States to bring world-class linens to the American market. Nearly a hundred years on, it is still a family business, now in its third generation.
The finished goods are cut, sewn, and embroidered at the company's factory in Fall River, Massachusetts, a facility powered by solar energy where traditional handcraft meets modern textile technology. The fabrics are woven to Matouk's specifications and finished by its own artisans.
